The novaalert mobileAPP turns an ordinary smartphone into a state-of-the-art security device. Using the smartphone’s position and movement sensors, the alarm software reliably monitors the user’s capacity to work and automatically triggers an alarm in an emergency. Of course, the user can also manually trigger an emergency call at any time.

Each emergency situation is unique – sometimes an employee is able to manually trigger an alarm. Next time, however, they may not be able to do so. In both cases, the novaalert mobileAPP ensures fast, easy and reliable protection for lone workers – thanks to state-of-the-art technology.
In the event of an accident, injured personnel are automatically located and help is sent to the right place as quickly as possible. Our system seamlessly locates lone workers via novaBEACON, WiFi and GPS.
In addition, novaalert monitors each user’s personal safety device around the clock. Damage, device failure and low battery levels are immediately detected and signaled by the server.

A fully functional dead man’s alarm requires numerous different features. The novaalert mobileAPP has them all: seamless and server-based function monitoring, a reliable logon/logoff system, the ability to override silent mode, interactive alarms and, last but not least, an intuitive user interface to ensure safe working with the app.
The novaalert mobileAPP supports GSM and WiFi.
Function test
The lone worker enables the dead man’s function at the start of their shift. After the integrated device test, the dead man’s function is automatically activated. The employee can now simply get to work – no further device input is necessary.
Triggering alarms
In an emergency, the employee can trigger an alarm manually (deliberately) via the mobileAPP or an external emergency call button (Bluetooth button). If the employee is not able to independently trigger an alarm, the (automatic) dead man’s function takes over. This is triggered by the device’s position and movement sensors. Additional features such as pre-alarm, sensor pause and a countdown timer in network dead zones increase the system’s reliability and prevent false alarms.
Location tracking
The mobileAPP uses GPS, novaBEACON or WiFi to locate personnel involved in an accident. At the same time, action plans and building maps (including Google Maps) are automatically sent to the rescue team.

An alarm sounds. An emergency situation is unfolding. There is no time to lose: novaalert locates and identifies the injured employee and transmits all necessary information to the first responders. On request, a voice connection can also be established – to reassure the injured person that they are safe and help is on the way. FAQs – Lone-worker protection
A lone worker is defined as someone who works out of sight and earshot of other people. In an emergency, a lone worker must be able to call for help – either by manually triggering an emergency call or by means of appropriate emergency technology that can do this automatically. Guaranteeing this level of protection is part of the employer’s duty of care.
The Ordinance on Accident Prevention (Verordnung über die Unfallverhütung (VUV)) applies to work involving special risks. For example, the employer may only assign particularly hazardous work to personnel who are trained accordingly. Moreover, if such tasks are carried out by employees working alone, their personal safety must be adequately protected.
Lone workers can easily connect their security devices to novaalert. novaalert’s security function permanently and securely monitors the status of the user’s device and automatically alerts their colleagues as soon as the situation requires this.
If a lone worker is required to perform hazardous tasks, the employer must implement reliable technical and organisational personal protection measures (Section 8 (2) of Regulation 1 issued by the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV)).
You can determine which measures and emergency concepts are required by referring to the DGUV risk assessment or the assessment matrix for hazardous situations published by the Swiss National Accident Insurance Fund (SUVA).

Emergency response chains must be carefully planned ahead of time. When the worst comes to the worst, help must be available as quickly as possible. While this requires appropriate technical measures, the in-house emergency response must also be organised accordingly. In other words, everyone in the alarm chain must know exactly what to do in an emergency – this is the only way to ensure that no precious time is lost. The planning and organisation of the emergency chain is the employer’s responsibility and forms an integral part of the lone-worker safety concept.
